Homeward Bound

Time to say good bye to Pangkor. It has been a great holiday here and I certainly do not feel like leaving this place. But then, all good things will eventually come to an end. Looks like I got to start planning for another outing at Pangkor after this.

Sun, Sea And Surf

This had certainly turned out to be a great holiday for the family. Choosing Pangkor was certainly a right move as it was a perfect getaway from the city. Sun, sea and surf. Perfect combination.

Mini Great Wall

They call this place the Mini Great Wall of Pangkor, although I personally do not see anything great about this place except that it was just a place filled with characters and items from the Chinese mythology. Again, like other things here in Pangkor, nothing much have changed here.

For kids, this place is great simply because there are many spots for photography. Like this rabbit from the Chinese horoscope. One thing I must really say about this place is that it looked like it really needed some maintenance and upkeep.

Seafood

A trip to Pangkor will be incomplete if you do not stop at one of the many factories producing the famous Pangkor's cuttlefish. The smell may be unpleasant but once you have tasted the cuttlefish, you are bound to be looking for more.

For the record, seafood industry like cuttlefish, anchovies and others have put Pangkor on the map as the main producer of preserved and fresh seafood. Infact, more often than not, you will be able to see visitors to the islands carrying bags upon bags of their purchase when leaving the island.

Siamese Boy V2.0

The Siamese boy? Hardly. These photos really reminded me of Amsyar when he was small, when his mother would wrap him up in his towel after bath. Thus the Siamese Boy name.

You can say that this is the female version of the Siamese Boy...

Pangkor - A Slow Pace Life

This is the second time we are staying here...the Puteri Bayu Beach Resort. It was great to see that this place is still around as the last time we were here was more than 10 years ago. This place may not be Club Med. But who cares. You do not need only Club Med to enjoy yourself.

The resort is still the same like I remember. Actually, to be frank, nothing about Pangkor really change that much. With slow-pace life here, it is therefore the perfect getaway for a holiday and to escape from the hustle of city life. Give me another chance and I will likely choose this place again.

The fact that this resort is located next to the beach made it even more worthwhile. Of course its locality was also a plus-point as everything around here just continue at a slow and leisurely pace. This is really something that I can get use to.

Holiday Time

Time to relax and sit around doing nothing in the lobby after roaming around in Pangkor. As usual the little girl was unable to keep quiet and as usual, had to keep a close watch on her so that she will not be up to some of her tricks.

Like A Duck To Water

What do you get when you put a baby and a floating rubber duckie together? A great photo opportunity. Furthermore, the contrasting colour between the yellow duck and the blue pool water made the photos even more beautiful. And that was one thing that I will not miss out on.

The yellow duck was a last minute addition to the things we took to Pangkor as we only bought it in Lumut. This was because I had planned all along to let Dhamia enjoy herself in the pool once we get to the hotel.

However, her first taste of the pool was not really that good. As this was her first time in a pool, the whole new experience really freaked her out. It took some time before she got use to it and once she did, there was no turning back.

Beach Baby

This was Dhamia's first introduction to the beach. She must have freaked out by the loud crashing sound of the wave as she was initially quite restless when brought to the beach. Infact she had be carried all the while as she did not want to even step her feet on the sand.

This is one reason why I like Pangkor. The beaches here were not as crowded as elsewhere. And furthermore, the beaches were more pristine and cleaner.

Pangkor Here We Come

Off for a holiday in Lumut. It has been a long time since I last visited Pangkor and this time around, there is another addition to the family. After such a long drive and several stopovers, it certainly felt great to have reached Lumut. Time to sit back and relax.

Received a surprised news when we reached Lumut. The passing of Perak's Sultan. Which means that our holidays in Perak (Pangkor) coincided with that historic event. So no entertainment throughout the State.

Tin Mining Museum

Looking at these photos I could not help but wonder if this place is really that boring for Dhamia. She was fast asleep throughout the visit to the Tin Mining Museum in Kampar. Actually, she was already asleep in the car before we even reached this place. So that kind of explain why she was being carried throughout the museum.

This was my first visit to this museum. Infact, this was one of the places that I had planned to visit during the trip to Pangkor. As Kampar is conveniently located on the way to Lumut, we were able to stop here for awhile.

We were so close to missing the opportunity to visit the museum as the place was already about to close for lunch when we arrived. However, we were able to enter albeit at a fast pace visit. Did not have the opportunity to really enjoy the exhibits due to the time constraint. I must really make a point to visit this museum again should I ever be in the vicinity of Kampar again.

Sweet Little Eskimo

At first glance, one would have thought that this is an Eskimo girl. However, unfortunately, there is no Eskimo girl here in Melaka. So we have to make do with what we have...Dhamia. Well, minus the show of course.

Actually, these photos were taken at Dataran Pahlawan after we took Dhamia shopping for a sweater. Not that we are going to Korea or north pole but simply to prepare for the Pangkor trip. Being a seaside resort, we were afraid that she might find it kind of cold there. So as a precautionary measure, the sweater is a must.

Hair Raising Experience

Check my hair out. So what do you think about it? Well, since Dhamia's hair had grown longer it was about time to tie her hair. And no thanks to her mum, this was the result of the endeavour.

Dhamia And Her Hat

Dhamia and her funny-looking hat again. She seemed to be so engrossed in something that she did not even realise that I was standing there snapping away. As with kids, there were times when it was almost impossible to snap her photos as she was unable to sit still. And on the other hand, there were also times when something like presented itself. Of course, more often than not, it would be quite a daunting task trying to get her to keep quiet.

Cooling Off

Welcome to Dhamia's world. This is an impromptu photography session..which explains for her lack of clothings. This was taken during the dry season and as such, the weather was rather hot and just to keep her happy, she had to go around like this to cool things off.
