First Ice Cream
So how do I look? What a messy little girl. This was how Dhamia looked like after having her first taste of an ice cream. Wonder whether she tasted the ice cream or just smearing it on her face? Must really be nice as she was not even bothered about her messy look at the end of the ice cream tasting session.
Well girl...there's more ice cream to come. Just do not get as messy as this the next time around.

Speed Demon
How's this for size? Dhamia trying out her walker...well actually the walker was handed down to her by Wawa. It has been quite some time since the walker was used. Now that she is able to sit upright guess it is about time to let her test out the walker.
And I must say that she really enjoyed it as she was all over the house shortly after she was put into the walker. Looks like there's more work to be done especially in keeping an eye out for her as she speeds around the house like a speed demon.

Dhamia Goes To Pizza Hut
Now that Dhamia has begun to eat solid food she seems to be interested in practically everything that we eat. However, as she has yet to have a full set of teeth, we have to be choosy as to what we can allow her to eat. However, mushroom soup like those served at Pizza Hut is a perfect start for her...and she seems to be enjoying the soup.
Since she can already sit upright, it is easier to have dinner out as she can sit in a baby chair...provided of course she behaves herself.

Dhamia And The Cat
Introducing Dhamia to Fat Leonard for the first time. This was a move to familiarise her with cats so that she will not fear them like some other kids who seem to freak out whenever a cat gets close to them. That, to me, is really weird.
Initially Dhamia was rather cautious as this was the first time she was coming face to face with cat, and on top of that, a cat of Fat Leonard's size. But after some time, she began to feel comfortable with the cat and before long she was already tugging at its tail.

Pearl Of The Orient 2
A trip to Penang will certainly be incomplete without taking lots of photographs...and of course, savouring the many varieties of mouth-watering delicacies which made Penang famous as a food haven. But then the downside of having visited Penang on so many occasions in the past is that you will soon run out of places to visit. Although there are many interesting places in Penang to visit you will still run out of places to go to after having visited Penang so many times.
Just when I ran out of ideas on where to visit, it suddenly hit me to visit several locations which have made a name for themselves due to the wall paintings. Although these paintings are not located in one area, their locations were not really that far from one another, thus walking from one point to another was the best option to enjoy the colourful wall paintings.
Judging from the large crowd at these locations, especially those waiting in line to have their photos taken with these wall paintings really showed how popular these paintings are. It is really amazing that something like the paintings which are not really that widely publicized have managed to attract such a large crowd. Not only were the foreign tourists interested in these paintings, most of the local visitors were also not missing out on taking photos of the paintings.
These paintings were so life-like that a cleverly chosen angle for photo will make it look as though you are part of the painting itself. Kudos to the person who painted these as it looked like he really put in a lot of effort to make these paintings look so convincing.

Pearl Of The Orient
It was back to Penang for holiday again. It looks like Penang is always the favourite destination for our holiday each year. Well I guess you can't blame me for that as Penang is considered as a food haven and it is always the food that makes Penang such a wonderful to visit. This time around there is a new addition to the visitor to Penang as this was the first time Dhamia is visiting Penang.
This is one of the must-visit place each time we are in Penang - the Botanical Garden. As always it is always the monkeys which seem to be the attraction here, especially for those who do not fancy walking in the park. Judging from the number of people here it is obvious that the Botanical Garden has not lost its attraction.

Posing Time
What else to do than to fool with the camera while waiting for the traffic light to turn green. And what a better subject than Dhamia. Just wondering though, why that serious look. Maybe she was also wondering what on earth was I doing with the camera.
Even without that smile she still looks cute for the camera.

Merry Christmas
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Trying out my new Samsung S4 phone's camera by snapping Dhamia's photo at Hatten Square. The two giant bears as Christmas decoration was the perfect backdrop for the photo shoot although trying to get Dhamia to look at the camera was never easy. But in the end, I managed to snap this.
Come to think of it, I still cannot make any sense what does teddy bear got to do with Christmas celebration. If it is Valentine's Day then I will understand but Christmas...?

First Solid Food
Dhamia's first taste of solid food. In this case Nestum. As this was the first time she was eating out of a spoon, she seemed to be struggling at first. But once she had gotten the hang of things, she seemed to enjoy her meal. Of course, getting her to eat and to swallow were two other problems in the beginning.
Looks llike there will be more good and glorious food to be eaten after this. Slow and steady my girl. Take your time to enjoy your meal.

Horsing Around
Testing one two three. Dhamia testing out the ride at Aeon Bandaraya Melaka. Not that she can sit upright. Just letting her get a feel of sitting on this horse so that when the time comes she will know what to do and what to expect.
Frankly speaking, I would really like to see her ride on this thing. I can just imagine how she will behave. Should be fun for her.

A Little Girl & Her Horsey
Dhamia's first ride on the horsey was a brief one as she has yet to be able to sit properly. You can say that this was an introduction for her. And despite the brief ride, she seemed to be enjoying herself on that white horsey. As that was her first time on the horsey, that should not be a real surprise.
The real surprise will be when she starts asking for a real horsey. Just wondering what is this thing between kids and horses?

A Little Model
So how do I look? Fancy being a baby model...? Looks like Dhamia is beginning to enjoy having her photos taken. Although I must admit that it can be a task trying to keep her still when taking her photos. With a kid of that age, that can only be expected. But nevertheless, the final outcome is not that bad either. Looks like she has got a long way to go.

Cheeky
I just can't get enough of that cheeky smile. And to get her to smile for this photo was tough. Even when I have gotten her to smile, getting her to maintain that smile and at the same time looking at the camera was yet another monumental task.
But it was worth the wait and the tries to finally have her first few photos in his position. Well done little one.

Watery Escapade
Melaka Wonderland...here we come. I was really looking forward to spending some time here but I have to admit that I was rather disappointed when I got there. Smacked right in the middle of nowhere, the place was really not up to my expectation. Not to mention the intense heat.
Dhamia's first experience was a rather short-lived one as she started shivering barely after she had gotten into the water. First experience. Bet she'll enjoy it more when she gets bigger.
Overall, it was a so-so outing and could have been better.

Interlude
I was not surprised when I heard about this accident as this was one accident just waiting to happen. Despite the many fatal accidents involving buses in the past, nothing seemed to have being done to address the problem even though numerous changes were promised each time an accident occur. It's like a worn-out recording.
Fatal accidents along the Genting Highlands stretch is nothing new. Infact, in my capacity as a journalist I have covered two such accidents during the mid-90s, including one which saw 17 deaths. So this piece of news did not come as a surprise to me.
Mark my word, the authorities will promise all sorts of sweeping changes after this, but after a couple of months things will go back to the way they were. Back to square one. So do not be surprised if another accident of this nature occurs.
Bottom line is...I don't trust bus companies and bus drivers.
