Night's Out

A night outing with the family at Windmill. Time to enjoy some great food. But of course, it can be quite a daunting task having dinner and looking after little Dhamia at the same time.

Interlude

SYSTEM DOWN...all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Or in my case, all work and no play makes Jeff a sick boy. Severe food poisoning to be precise. Hate those rehydration salt.

Watery Escapade

Melaka Wonderland...here we come. I was really looking forward to spending some time here but I have to admit that I was rather disappointed when I got there. Smacked right in the middle of nowhere, the place was really not up to my expectation. Not to mention the intense heat.

Dhamia's first experience was a rather short-lived one as she started shivering barely after she had gotten into the water. First experience. Bet she'll enjoy it more when she gets bigger.

Overall, it was a so-so outing and could have been better.

Interlude

I was not surprised when I heard about this accident as this was one accident just waiting to happen. Despite the many fatal accidents involving buses in the past, nothing seemed to have being done to address the problem even though numerous changes were promised each time an accident occur. It's like a worn-out recording.

Fatal accidents along the Genting Highlands stretch is nothing new. Infact, in my capacity as a journalist I have covered two such accidents during the mid-90s, including one which saw 17 deaths. So this piece of news did not come as a surprise to me.

Mark my word, the authorities will promise all sorts of sweeping changes after this, but after a couple of months things will go back to the way they were. Back to square one. So do not be surprised if another accident of this nature occurs.

Bottom line is...I don't trust bus companies and bus drivers.

One Step At A Time

After days of trying and losing her temper at her failure to turn her body around, Mia finally managed to turn over by herself. But she somehow looked dazed and did not know what to do after that, probably because it took too much effort and exertion to be able to turn around.

Probably to someone as small as she is turning around was just a gargantuan task. At least she showed one positive trait...never giving up until she had achieved what she wanted to achieve.

Not bad little one. Now give me a high five...provided of course you know what a high five is.

Raya Fashion Display

Just like everyone else, Hari Raya is not only a time to celebrate but also to show off one's fashion sense, or what's left of it. The same goes for Mia where Hari Raya was the perfect time to show off her new wardrobe.

About time as I had waited for more than three months to see her in her new outfit. Now that she has gotten bigger she was able to fit into those dresses.

How about this one? Looks like a perfect pyjama. Come to think of it, I am not sure myself whether this was a pyjama or not. But nevertheless, she certainly looked cute in that outfit.

Now this is my personal favourite. If only the outfit was green in colour it would have looked like a flight suit right out of Top Gun. Move over Lt Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell.

First Raya

There was a new addition to the family's Hari Raya portrait this time around as Dhamia joined us for the ritual Hari Raya morning family shoot. Getting her to sit quietly and look at the camera proved to be quite a daunting task. Even when she was looking at the camera, getting her to maintain her focus long enough for the photo to be taken was yet another challenge. However, in the end, not only was one shot taken but several shots.

Looking at each of the photos made me realized how mismatched we all looked in those photos. Each with his/her own colour. For one, I am not really fond of everyone wearing the same colour as this really reminded me of the boria group from Sungai Pinang. Mismatched or not, it was a great Hari Raya nevertheless.
